iPad - What's it good for? TV that's what.
I was initially skeptical the iPad would be useful for much. It didn’t have a video camera, limited hard drive space among a host of other “missing” features.
After carefully watching the Steve Jobs (aka The Messiah) Apple keynote presentation I’ve had a change of heart. I now think the iPad will become the “standard” web surfing and TV consuming device in the...
Jill Bolte Taylor’s stroke of insight
One of the most amazing talks I have ever seen.
Jill’s story fits nicely with most of my thoughts on our world, our place in it and spiritualism.

Police knew about Indian attacks for years →
From the article: “Indians were over-represented when it came to robberies, but not assaults”
I recently heard some youths interviewed who knew about the attacks occurring on Indians. They claimed the Indians were targeted as they were seen as “soft targets” — less likely to put up a fight.
This new information from the Victoria Police Commissioner shows the attacks...

By far the most thoughtful article on the Google / China issue. One of the most articulate blog posts I’ve read in a very long time.

My first thoughts upon hearing of the assassination was the US probably was involved somehow.
Interesting to note the US didn’t come out immediately after the assassination and make their usual comments about how awful terrorism is etc.

Why do all online banking systems open full...
I have used four online banking systems and all of them open online banking in a new window and maximise to the full screen.
Opening in a new window I can understand (On closing the window they can make sure you get logged out properly), but maximising the window? It really annoys me, but there must be a reason as they all do it.
Does anyone know why?

Unaffordable housing is the great Australian... →
A classic case of using statistics, without thinking about them properly. I agree that housing affordability is a problem, however the situation in Queensland is different. Many baby boomers are moving there to retire, increasing the prices. As a result, a measure against median incomes isn’t a very accurate measure of affordability.

Interesting approach to getting better online collaboration between government and the public. Reminds me of the Aust. Government’s Web 2.0 push, except the government is funding it directly, rather than offering a prize.
Work / Life Balance
It’s a juggle to balance working on a startup and still making time for other important things in life.
I’ve been working flat out on Mozzler for a number of months now and I suspect it’s taking a toll. I’ve not made enough time to exercise, read a book, or just relax in general. As a result, when I do sit down to work, I don’t feel fully productive or struggle to find good solutions to...
